Company

A team of engineers building battery packs in Kongsberg.

We are a small, engineering-led company in one of Norway's oldest defence and precision-industry towns — and we build every pack there.

Who we are

Nordic Batteries is built around engineers who like hard constraints: an unusual envelope, a hostile environment, a long service life, or a supply chain that has to be documented end to end. Our people work directly with your people — the person who answers a question about a pack is usually the person who designed or built it.

We are in Kongsberg, a town that has made weapons, instruments and precision mechanics for more than three centuries. That history is still visible in the engineering cluster around us: suppliers, workshops and people who have spent their careers building hardware for demanding customers. It is a good place to recruit from, and a good place to build from.

Production

An Industry 4.0 production line in Kongsberg.

Packs are built on an automated line: cells are graded and sorted, welded under process control, and inspected in-line, with data captured at every station. Each pack carries its own digital record — the cells that went into it, the welds, the test results.

The same line takes a design from first prototype to repeatable series without moving site or changing process, which keeps the hardware you qualify and the hardware you receive at volume the same hardware.

Supply chain

A NATO-friendly supply chain, when your programme requires it.

For defence customers, where the cells and components come from is part of the specification. We can build packs on a supply chain sourced from allied countries, and document it, so the question can be answered before it is asked.

How we work

Engineering-led

Our engineers talk to your engineers. No account layer in between, no answers that wait for a weekly call.

Close to the build

Design, assembly and test sit in the same place, so a question about a pack is answered by the people who made it.

Documentation as a deliverable

Test data, traceability and transport paperwork are part of the product, not something we assemble afterwards.
