    We are developing battery modules and racks with high energy and power. Our pilotline, developed with Intek, will be installed Q2, 2024. This is the first step towards an automated 1GWh battery assembly line in Norway.

We have a strong team with a proven track record, commercially as well as technically. Our extended team consists of more than 25 professionals, with our core team presented here. 

NB Jarle
Jarle is the Chief Executive Officer of the company. He is an experienced general manager with a demonstrated history of working in the industrial engineering industry. Jarle holds a BSc in Engineering from the University of Glasgow as well as an EMBA from BI Norwegian business school. On his spare time, he develops and maintains his farm outside Kongsberg.

NB Paal
Paal is the co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of the company. He is responsible for marketing and Business Development. He has an MBA from BI Norwegian business school in Strategy and has extensive experience from the automotive industry as well as software development. On his spare time, Paal enjoys skiing and water sports.

NB Lars
Lars is the Chief Financial Officer of the company. He has a background in corporate finance and M&A advisory. He also has experience as a consultant and analyst in the energy sector. Lars holds a MSc in Industrial Economics and Technology Management from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Besides work, Lars is an amateur musician and plays bass in a rock band.

Jan Olaf Willums
Jan-Olaf is the founder and chairman of Nordic Batteries. He is a serial founder with focus on the sustainability, energy and e-mobility sector. Jan-Olaf holds a DSc from MIT in Ocean Engineering and International Management as well as a MSc from ETH Zürich in Mechanical Engineering. On his spare time, he enjoys skiing and producing great wine in his vineyard in France.

NB Mathias
Mathias is Control Engineer in Nordic Batteries working on the development of our BMS (Battery Management System). He has joined us fresh from his studies in Cybernetics on USN (Universitetet i Sørøst-Norge). In his Bachelor thesis/project he was responsible for the BMS development for an electric vehicle and through this both gained interest and experience for battery systems. When not working, he is doing down-hill biking and an active gamer.

Markus works as a Battery Expert at Nordic Batteries, as part of the technical team with focus on quality assurance. From his time as a Postdoctoral Fellow at NTNU he has experience with testing Li-ion batteries to understand and prevent degradation and ageing. Markus also holds a MSc in Nanotechnology and a PhD within the field of optical sensors and phase-change transitions. On his spare time, Markus enjoys riding his bike.
